ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - A man who was on the run in Mexico for nearly seven years is returned to the state to face charges in the murder of a 10-year-old Clovis boy.

Gov. Susana Martinez's office has confirmed that Noe Torres will be arriving Tuesday afternoon.

Authorities say Torres was part of a gang that fired several bullets into a Clovis home in September 2005, resulting in the death of 10-year-old Carlos Perez.

Torres was captured in Mexico on Jan. 25.

He faces three charges including first-degree murder, attempted murder and shooting at an occupied building.

Once Torres is returned to Curry County, District Attorney Matt Chandler plans to file a motion to have him moved to a more secure state prison because of his status as a high flight risk.
