TUCUMCARI, N.M. -- Two Tucumcari teenagers are being accused of burglarizing a New Mexico State Patrol Car.

Authorities said a state patrol car was broken into overnight on Sept. 2 when it was parked in front of the officer's residence in Tucumcari. A rifle along with other items were stolen, police said.

Most of the stolen items were located at a Tucumcari residence, police said.

After investigation, police arrested two teenagers.

Zachary Hurd, 17, and Trenton Ward, 18, both of Tucumcari, were both charged with Receiving or Transferring Stolen Property, Tampering with Evidence and Conspiracy. Both were transported to the Quay County Detention Center.

Authorities are continuing the investigation and more arrests are expected.
