SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - State vendors expecting payments for their work or services may have to wait while New Mexico officials fix the latest glitch in a payroll and accounting computer system.

Department of Finance and Administration spokesman Tim Korte says paychecks are expected to go out as usual to state employees Friday, but checks to vendors could be delayed by up to one week or longer.

Korte says in a statement to the Santa Fe New Mexican that system errors in the state computer-based accounting system are the source of the problem.

Thousands of employees were issued incorrect checks earlier this year and the state signed an emergency contract with a company to fix the problems.
