CLOVIS, N.M. -- A Clovis man was killed when police said the vehicle he was driving began hydroplaning and struck a tree.
The Curry County Sheriff's Office said a 2003 Ford pickup was traveling west on US 60/70/84 near Curry Road C at about 2:00 p.m., Friday when it lost control and started to hydroplane on the wet road. The vehicle then started spinning, left the road and struck a tree, authorities said.
The pickup was driven by 26-year-old Francisco J. Galindo, Jr., of Clovis. Inside the vehicle was his wife Angela Eggert and their 2-year-old daughter.
All three people were transported to a local hospital.
Galindo died from injuries he sustained in the crash, police said.
Investigation into this crash is ongoing.
