CLOVIS, N.M. -- The wife of a Clovis homicide victim was arrested Tuesday and is being held without bail.
According to Clovis Police, Elizabeth Betancourt, 36, was taken into custody on an open count of homicide. She is being held at the Curry County Detention Center.
Police said the evidence in the investigation pointed to her.
It was last weekend when 35-year-old Santiago Betancourt became involved in a physical altercation with his wife, police said. Police were called to a stabbing in the 300 block of Aspen Street just after 7:30 Saturday evening.
He died at Plains Regional Medical Center.
