AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Amarillo Police Department is looking for an armed robbery suspect.

Police officers were called to the ClearTalk Wireless store at 815 Martin Road at 9:30 a.m. Saturday morning.

Upon arrival officers said an employee there told them she was vacuuming the sales floor when a black male entered the store through the front doors behind her.

When she turned to greet the customer, she says the male pulled a black semi-automatic handgun from his waist and pointed it at her and demanded money. Police say the suspect then put the gun to her head and walked her to the backroom where the store safe is located.

The employee complied with the commands, but she stated she was having trouble getting the safe open and the suspect struck her on the side of the head several times with an open hand telling her to hurry.

Money was removed from the safe and suspect fled out the front door in an unknown direction.

The suspect described as a black male 6 feet tall, thin build, mid 20's, wearing a black hoodie, black dickie style long shorts and black and white tennis shoes.

The incident is under investigation. If you have any information call the Amarillo Police Department at 378-3038.
