VEGA, TEXAS -- Last night the community of Vega decided not to pass a $4 million bond issue that would have helped renovate the High School. That school has seen very little improvement since it opened in 1964. Administrators were hoping for an upgrade, in new electrical wiring, plumbing, as well as new ceilings, and better internet access. But in a close race, the bond failed 144 to 188. "Just disappointed not discouraged, because I know that people know the building needs an upgrade. I think we'll find a place where we can meet the community's approval." Said Vega Superintendent Margo Knox. She is also hopeful that it will be back on the ballot by next November.
