AMARILLO, TEXAS -- If you are a Veteran, today is your day, and all of us here at ProNews 7 salute you.

In the Amarillo area, one of the many observances happened at the Texas Panhandle War Memorial. Hundreds of Veterans gathered at the memorial today to revisit old friends, share stories, and remember those we've lost.

The event was complete with a 21 gun salute, a fly over by the Drew Line Squadron and most importantly American pride.

U. S. Navy Captain David K. Will was the guest speaker he spoke about the way the recent Fort Hood tragedy, and what America is going through. The Captain said, "I think the average American citizen is feeling what a Veteran feels everyday. In our world we realize that is very easy to have someone in your life one day and not have them the next."

Captain Will just completed his second deployment.
