AMARILLO, TEXAS -- In Amarillo, an open house pointed out how a shortage of downtown housing might soon get an answer.

Developer Darin Hudson showed off where he is with his Double R Lofts on South Grant Street.

That's in the old Panhandle Produce warehouse near the railroad tracks.

Hudson said the lofts will feature private decks, security systems, gourmet kitchens, and more.

"There'll be 20 different units in the building, total. The project will be surrounded by a brick wall up front with drive-in gates that are all card key access. And then you'll have private parking inside that fence line." said Darin Hudson, Developer of the Double R Lofts.

The lofts range in size from just under 1,000 to 3,500 square feet.
