WASHINGTON -- U.S. Representative Mac Thornberry, who serves on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and the House Armed Services Committees, called on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to direct Congress to open an investigation into the Fort Hood shooting. The shooting left 13 dead and sent several more to the hospital.
In a statement released by Thornberry, he said, this matter wasn't just about the prosecution of one individual but as much as protecting other Americans from being killed. Thornberry said, "all of the facts need to come out. The families and the wounded deserve to know how this happened. And all Americans need to be confident their government is taking the right steps to protect us and prevent these tragedies in the future."
