The first day of August is shaping up to be a breezy and hot day with a mostly sunny to partly cloudy sky. Upper level high pressure will keep our rain chances at bay, and help our afternoon high temperatures to climb into the mid 90s to around 103°. So yes... expect it to be warmer than it has been recently. Winds will blow from the south and southwest at 15 to 25 mph by the afternoon with some gusts upwards of 35-40 mph possible as well.

CANYON, TEXAS -- WT alumni can walk around campus and reminisce about how it use to look before the days of Buff Hall and baggy jeans, but now the Panhandle Plains Historical Museum has made looking back-easy

A 90 photo exhibit, 'From Hell Week to Homecoming-Life at WT', is up in the museum, taking viewers back to 1953 through 1971.

The photos were hand picked out of 60 thousand potentials. Curators say this is a fitting way to bring in the centennial celebration.

Director PPHM Research Center Warren Stricker said, "This captures big moments on campus from big names coming to visit, to student life, and campus activity. It's a great way to look a at the then and now and how some things have changed and some have stayed the same. "

The exhibit is primarily work of Gort Rushmer and will be up until August 1st.
