The first day of August is shaping up to be a breezy and hot day with a mostly sunny to partly cloudy sky. Upper level high pressure will keep our rain chances at bay, and help our afternoon high temperatures to climb into the mid 90s to around 103°. So yes... expect it to be warmer than it has been recently. Winds will blow from the south and southwest at 15 to 25 mph by the afternoon with some gusts upwards of 35-40 mph possible as well.

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Worth the Wait hosted the high-flying, hoop-defying Harlem Ambassadors; a group of b-ballers with a positive message.

The abstinence education focused organization hosted the event. The Ambassadors played against a group of local educators and staff from the Y.M.C.A.

It was a friendly competition with helping Amarillo's youth at center court.

"With them bringing us in, yeah, we implement drug free, implement college educations, but also anything that has to do with helping our young adults, and abstinence is right up there; that alone can change your life just like drugs and alcohol," said Jesse Whintly, Harlem Ambassadors.

The Harlem Ambassadors travel all across the U.S. performing and speaking about drugs and about going to college.
