The first day of August is shaping up to be a breezy and hot day with a mostly sunny to partly cloudy sky. Upper level high pressure will keep our rain chances at bay, and help our afternoon high temperatures to climb into the mid 90s to around 103°. So yes... expect it to be warmer than it has been recently. Winds will blow from the south and southwest at 15 to 25 mph by the afternoon with some gusts upwards of 35-40 mph possible as well.

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- The Census office still has more jobs to fill.

The jobs are temporary but pay anywhere from $8 and $24 an hour.

To qualify for a position you must pass a test, but census officials are making it easy on you with a practice test, which will be offered at the Region 16 building at 6:30 p.m. next Tuesday, March the 16th.

Media Specialist Kimberly Murphy said, "How do you get considered for this job? Well you call 866-861-2010 and it will direct you to the Amarillo office. You can then schedule to take a basic 30 minutes skills test it's math, reading, organizational, and sequencing things like that."

People are welcome to take the real test after the practice as well or schedule an appointment later.
