AMARILLO, TEXAS -- An 11-year-old girl hit by a car Friday morning in Amarillo is recovering.

Police say the student was hit while crossing in a crosswalk at Wimberly and Rusk. The child had no visible injuries but was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

The 22-year-old driver was cited for failure to yield right-of-way to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
