STRATFORD, TEXAS -- A new technology called "Tele-Medicine" is allowing specialists to consult with other doctors about patients from rural communities.

We spoke to Doctor Bonna Benjamin about this technology, and she says the first community to get it in the Panhandle will be Stratford.

Specialists at Texas Tech will be able to help diagnose patients without actually being in the same room .

The video and interactive technology will eventually be available in many of the rural areas of the Panhandle.

Dr. Benjamin said that the convenience of the consultation will benefit people in rural areas the most.
