AMARILLO,TEXAS -- Now that the weather's cleared up for spring break, you might want to head out to the Amarillo Zoo for some special events this week.
Among some of the highlights for the week, the giant tortoise encounter, "tales of scales" in their new herpetarium, and the safari theatre where visitors can interact with some of the more than 60 animal breeds at the zoo and see the changes made in the last year.
Mike Boley, Visitor Service Coordinator says "It's a nice week, the weather's great and we have the new lemur exhibit and so in addition to all the fun animals to look at, we also have great activities when you come to the zoo, check out the front gate and we'll have each day's agenda posted."
All the programs are free with the paid admission, which is 3 dollars for adults, 2 dollars for seniors and a buck for kids.
