AMARILLO, TEXAS -- The Panhandle Workforce Development Board is relaxing their restrictions to help employers across the Panhandle get incentives for hiring people who are out of work.
This is part of the Texas Back to Work Program, where businesses can receive up to $2,000 for hiring people out of work since September. The Board will now let employers who hire more than 3 employees for high quality jobs.
Businesses will see the money in the first month instead of waiting for the employee to work there for 4 months.
"Designed to make it easier for employers to participate and allow employers to have more workers and high quality jobs with good wages," said Pam Zenick with the Panhandle Regional Planning Commission.
Zenick also says the Owens Corning expansion is a good example of what they are trying to accomplish.
