AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Click here for an update to this story.

UPDATE 2:45: Lieutenant Gary Trupe with APD Special Crimes Unit, said officers have canvassed the neighborhood where the incident happened, and they also canvassed Strout's neighborhood. Police believe that the earliest the hit and run could have happened was around 2:00 a.m.

As of right now, no suspects have been identified, but police are working on a few leads.

Trupe said, after speaking with her family, there are some things that don't add up, for instance she doesn't usually walk, and there was nothing that she would have been on that side of town for.

Police believe it was a low speed event. Right now it is being treated as a suspicious death, or homicide for now.
