Texas wants to get 'schooled.'
That's because education is apparently an important issue to Texans.
According to the Texas Lyceaum, a new poll has found the number one issue facing Texas is education. The poll found that 33 percent of likely voters said education was the most important problem in the state.
Last fall, the number one issue in the same poll was immigration.
The news of the this comes as Texas lawmakers get closer to passing a budget that will reportedly cut billions from public schools.
Also, the poll found that the majority of Texans believe the state economy is better off than the rest of the nation.
The poll was conducted as a telephone survey the last week of May with more than 700 participants.
