LUNA, N.M. (AP) - The largest wildfire in Arizona history is now 89 percent contained.

The Wallow fire in eastern Arizona's Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest has burned nearly 841 square miles, including about 25 square miles in New Mexico.

There are still nearly 2,000 firefighters on the lines, but most are finishing up their work and will be released in the coming days. The fire is still uncontained along a small part of the southeastern flank.

Fire command spokesman Don Ferguson says crews are making sure the lines are very secure and beginning to recover equipment and demobilize.

The fire began on May 29 and destroyed 32 homes and four rental cabins. Nearly 10,000 people were evacuated at one point.

Authorities believe an unattended campfire sparked the fire and are investigating two `persons of interest."
