OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Snow in the Oklahoma Panhandle has tapered off, but forecasters warn of hazards from blowing snow and bitter cold that's following the storm system.
Up to a foot or more of snow fell at Boise City as numerous roads were closed Tuesday throughout the Panhandle. Slick conditions took hold eastward overnight toward Woodward and Alva.
The National Weather Service says lows in far western Oklahoma will reach the single digits Tuesday night. The weather service in Amarillo, Texas, says a blizzard warning remains in effect until noon.
As the weather system moves east Tuesday, it will bring a 20 percent chance of snow to the Oklahoma City area, with fog and gusty winds accompanying rain elsewhere.
There is also a 20 percent of snow in central Oklahoma on Thursday night.
