AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Texas U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison paid a visit to Bell Helicopter this morning.
Bell officials and employees and Amarillo city leaders also attended Thursday's event put together to recognize the Senator and say thank you for her nearly 20 years of service supporting Bell and Amarillo. Hutchison spoke about her longtime support for Bell and the V-22 Osprey and the great accomplishments of our military because of it.
"It has done extraordinary things," said Senator Hutchison. "Carrying the body of Osama bin Laden to the aircraft carrier because there was no other machine that had the range to do that. I have such faith in the V-22 Osprey that's going to be made in Amarillo for a long time to come."
Hutchison will be stepping down from her position as U.S. Senator near the end of year 2012.
