Police say 63-year-old Scott Powell of Santa Fe faces firearms and felony criminal damage charges for the April 11 shooting. He's also facing fleeing and felony assault charges from a police chase and standoff on Friday when officers tried to arrest him.

Unemployment averaged 8.2 percent in the third quarter of 2011, 7.2 percent in the fourth quarter and 7.1 percent in the first quarter of this year.
