SAYRE, OK (AP) -- An Illinois man has died of injuries suffered in a collision involving three tractor-trailer rigs on Interstate 40 in western Oklahoma.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 55-year-old Aleksandar Nikolic of Des Plaines, Ill., died at a Sayre hospital after the accident just east of Sayre.

Troopers say the crash occurred about 4:30 p.m. Thursday when a semi went off the interstate into the median and overturned.

A second semi hit the first then the rig driven by Nikolic crashed into the second semi and the trailer of the first.
