Amarillo's holly, jolly, stressed out, last minute shoppers are out in full force
Christmas is here, and for those procrastinators among us last minute shopping is the norm.
"I dont know why I always do it last minute, thats just me", says Corina Ramirez a shopper on a mission. "Im doing the whole family, really last minute".
Shes not alone, millions nationwide will shop on Christmas eve every year. Its a tradition for some. "Im always a last minute shopper, theres always somebody we weren't able to find something for, but have to do it at the last minute", says Tim Fielder, and old expert at last minute shopping.
"Its funny, the people that come in last, are not the ones in the biggest panic, seems like they would be. Their usually pretty calm and I think their old veterans at being the last in the store. They know what they are up against and they are getting the job done", said Silverland owner Todd Hill.
For alot of holiday shoppers, last minute shopping is an art and their always looking for the last second deal that may not have existed before. From Target to Silverland the shoppers I came in contact with were focused and realize what the holiday is all about.
"Its not so much about the gifts but just family", said Corina Ramirez
"I want people to have fun shopping and not get so caught up in the pressure of finishing their Christmas. Just go out and have a good time, find what your looking for and enjoy your families tonight on Christmas eve", said Todd Hill owner of Silverland.
Just about all over town there were hectic shoppers, but crowds were not bad and traffic even seemed light compared to past Christmas.
I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas and have a blessed holiday season.
