Employers participate in tough economy
CANYON, TEXAS -- In this tough economy, West Texas A&M University (WT) is gearing up to help its graduates find jobs via the spring career fair.
Organizers are expecting more employers to participate than last semester's fair, and say that out of hundreds who were contacted to be involved, only three potential employers said they wanted to wait to see what the economy would do before they put their name in the hat.
"We've had and we do have such a great relationship with a lot of employers, and those employers are still looking for good people. And a lot of the time, many, many employers will tell me, 'Karl, we always have room for a good one,'" said Karl Kimsey, employer relations coordinator at WT Career and Counseling Services.
The job fair is March 5, 2009, at the Activity Center's Ballroom on the WT campus.
