AMARILLO, TX -- Saturday marked the last day in black history month, and the people at the black historical cultural center celebrated in style. A southern style dinner was held for more than 250 people, it included country fried steak and lots of corn bread.

But more important is the message that was inspired by hope.

"What we're trying to do is keep it on a positive note. we want them to know whatever happened in the past brought them to the future and made a positive impact on their lives," said Atonie Horton, from the Amarillo United Citizens Forum.
