TUCUMCARI, NEW MEXICO -- Robert W. Wynashe, 66, of Tucumcari pled not guilty in court Thursday to charges stemming from the shooting of another man in the parking lot of the Redwood Lodge located at 1502 W. Route 66.

Howard Russell King was shot in the neck Monday. He was transferred from Tucumcari Memorial Hospital to the intensive care unit of an Amarillo hospital, where a spokesperson declined to release King’s condition.

Wynashe, also known as "Chief," was ordered assigned a lawyer and pled not guilty to seven felony counts, including aggravated battery, shooting at a motor vehicle, tampering with evidence and criminal damage of property.

A  $1 million cash bond was retained and he was returned to the Quay County Detention Center, according to court documents.

Wynashe is the manager of Redwood Lodge. King was moving out of the lodge at the time of the shooting, according to court documents.
