ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO (AP) -- New Mexico is getting more than $1.9 million for rebates for energy-efficient home appliances.
New Mexico's congressional delegation say the money is coming through the U.S. Department of Energy under a 2005 law being funded under the federal stimulus package.
Members of the delegation say New Mexicans can save money on Energy Star appliances through the rebate, then continue to save through lower electric bills.
Energy-efficient appliances eligible for rebates include dishwashers, refrigerators, water heaters, air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, washers and boilers.
The DOE expects substantially all funding to be awarded by the end of November.
