HALE COUNTY, TEXAS -- Lamb County Police received a 911 call Friday evening from a witness who described seeing a body being dragged behind a vehicle in Hale County.  Officers responded and found the body in a bar ditch on Country Road 245.

The slaying of the Lamb County man whose housemates, investigators said, dragged him behind his car through two counties.

According to police the victim is a white man. The identity of the man will not be released until after the autopsy.

Maddox said the victim was likely already dead when the men he lived with used an air hose to tie him to the back of his Mercedes and dragged him 3.8 miles along county roads in Lamb and Hale counties.

Lamb County sheriff's officers arrested Mickey Dale Birchfield, 51, and Bradford Stanley Halderman, 53, on Saturday on charges of homicide.
