AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Amarillo is number one when it comes to the mid-year buyers market and increasing home values, according to HousingPredictor.com.

The Realtors Association says overall we're still down about 20% from this time last year, but August and September look to be big closing months for home buyers in Amarillo because of the steady increase in buying over the past six months.

Texas Association of Realtors Randy Jeffers told us, "Anytime we can keep from going down either whether it's price depreciation or number of transactions we're going to be pleased that the market's showing signs of rebounding."

Jeffers adds that by the end of 2009 we should catch up to the overall number of sales from last year.
