TUCUMCARI, N.M. (AP) -- The Drug Enforcement Administration says it has destroyed marijuana from an elaborate operation north of Tucumcari that had running water from a stream and makeshift homes.
Acting on a tip, federal agents assisted by National Guard helicopters moved in on the operation last Friday.
DEA spokesman Edward Knoth of Albuquerque says a couple of people were spotted running away, but no arrests have been made.
Agents found 350 fully grown marijuana plants ready to be cut.
The DEA estimated the value of the marijuana at $2 million.
Knoth says people apparently had been living at the marijuana farm for a few months during the growing season to tend the plants.
