AMARILLO, TX -- Getting your kids into college is the mission of one man who spoke with the Amarillo ISD board tonight.  The founder of No Excuses University was in town to talk about his educational theories.

He says the key to getting kids to go to college is to educate them very young, and agrees the program is already in place at San Jacinto, has been doing well.

"San Jacinto is a shining examples of taking one idea from one place in the country and instituting in another place and getting an even better result. San Jacinto's demographics are far mor challenging than the school where it started at Los Penasquitos Elementary school in San Diego, and they are just meeting the needs of these kids," said Damen Lopez, the Founder of No Excuses University.

Six other panhandle schools are now applying to be part of no excuses university, three elementary schools and three middle schools.
