An organization called ''Teen Christmas'' is asking for donations to help older kids get some new clothes for school. The organization is working with the Wal-Mart on 45th and Coulter.
They say a lot of times the older kids are forgotten about and that's something they want to change, because there is peer pressure going back to school without a new outfit to wear.
"We give the kids a 50 dollar voucher that they can only use at wal-mart on 45th and coulter...and only on clothes. pants, shirts, shoes... that sort of thing," said board member Clint Walker.
"We have enough kids right now that are in need. what we need is donations. we really need the funds to do this. a 50 dollar donation will take care of one teenager. so they can shop and get clothes and shoes. wal-mart has great prices so the kids get to do the shopping," said D.J. Stubben, also a board member.
All donations to the 2009 ''Teen Christmas'' are tax deductible. If you would like to send any monetary donation, you can make a check payable to "Teen Christmas" c/o Welcome Pardner! PO Box 30926, Amarillo, TX 79120,
