AMARILLO, TEXAS -- For families that are struggling, providing gifts, paying bills, and other expenses may make it difficult to outfit their children in winter clothing. For those families, the Eveline Rivers Christmas Project is offering 5 more opportunities to receive needed winter clothing.

Children, infant to high schoolers, can receive a warm winter coat, hat, and gloves at no charge.

Parents need a referral card from an official at their child's school (explaining the need), next parents need to bring their children's I.D.s and proof of residency in our area. At that point the children will be fitted and supplied those items. Each child receiving a coat must be present for the fitting.

"Counselor, the principal, the teacher, etc..feels that family is in need of a coat, then they are going to be given a yellow referral card. It will be filled out in their behalf, and then that comes with them to the workshop, we are happy to have them here. We're excited to see the children smile, we have a large mirror that once they're fitted they can go look at themselves and admire how cute they look," said Eveline Rivers, Eveline Rivers Christmas Project.

Here are the upcoming opportunities that families will have to get their children fitted and supplied winter clothing.

Thursday, 10th, 7-8 PM; Saturday, 12th, 10-11 AM; Monday 14th, 6-7 PM; Thursday, 17th, 6-7 PM; and finally Tuesday, 22nd, 6-7 PM. Each fitting takes place at the Eveline Rivers Workshop at 314 S. Jefferson.

The Eveline Rivers Christmas Project outfits nearly 45-hundred kids every year, and so far since September they have supplied 33-hundred coats, hats, and gloves to help keep kids warm.

"We just hope that with this cold snap, that everybody realizes how important it is to have their children into winter coats," said Eveline Rivers.
