AMARILLO, TEXAS -- The residents of South East Amarillo have a new Amarillo National Bank branch. Bank officials hosted a grand opening celebration Tuesday at their new S.E. 24th and Grand St. location. Along with the celebration the bank donated 75-thousand dollars to 3 different organizations to benefit South East Amarillo.
Bank officials gave 60-thousand dollars to Habitat for Humanity to build a new home in that area. ANB also gave 10-thousand dollars to the Our Lady of Guadalupe Church's community center fund. Caprock high's activity fund received the remaining 5-thousand dollars from ANB.
"We wanted to make sure that we had an impact on the community, so it was appropriate for us to do it at the same time we opened the S.E. branch, we just feel very strongly that we've done the right thing," said Lilia Escajeda, Amarillo National Bank.
According to bank officials they donate around 1-million dollars every year to charitable organizations in our area.
