AMARILLO, TEXAS -- The day after Pronews 7 ran a story about Chihuahua puppies taken from a puppy mill and being put up for adoption, the community opened their hearts, and their homes, and adopted every single dog.

Last Thursday, Pronews 7 reported that 30 Chihuahua puppies were found at a puppy mill and taken to Critter Camp in Canyon.

The puppies were in danger of being euthanized if they couldn't find a home, but on Friday, Judi Glidewell, owner and operator of Critter Camp, said 30-40 people showed up to adopt the dogs.

Glidewell said she was amazed at the outpouring of people wanting to adopt the animals, but wants to remind the community that there are still a lot of animals at Critter Camp that need a good home.Critter Camp is open Monday through Saturday from 7:00am to 6:00pm.

Adoptions cost $60, which includes spay or neuter and shots.
