Governor Rick Perry wants the Texas Congressional Delegation to put Texas first and vote against the federal government's takeover of health care.
Perry along with Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst and Speaker of the House Joe Straus sent a letter to the delegates asking just that.
In the letter it says that "Texans deserve affordable, high-quality health care, not higher taxes, increased health insurance premiums and unprecedented mandates."
It goes on to say, "In addition to the enormous cost to Texans, we believe the backroom negotiations and special deal that some congressional leaders have cut may well be unconstitutional."
