CAPITAN, N.M. (AP) - Separate wildfires, being driven by high winds, have prompted two highway closures in Lincoln County.

A 200-acre blaze burning near the village of Glencoe - just east of Ruidoso - has closed U.S. 70. Officials say two structures have been lost, but it is not known if they were residences or outbuildings.

A second fire, this one estimated at 300 acres, has closed U.S. 380 from Capitan to the junction of New Mexico highway 220 near Fort Stanton.

Winds are reported gusting in the Ruidoso area to 45 miles per hour.
