AMARILLO,TEXAS -- UPDATE: Police released the names of those arrested in yesterdays chase.

The driver has been identified as James Brandon Lewis, 32. Lewis has been booked into the Potter County jail. He is charged with evading arrest or detention, and he also faces charges out of Gray County for auto theft and Deaf Smith County for criminal non-support. Police said they are attempting to verify other warrants. The passenger, Jesus Jose Ochoa, 22, was booked on a warrant for auto burglary stemming from a 2009 auto burglary in Amarillo.

Amarillo police today finally caught a man wanted on at least three felony charges after a car chase through the city's streets. The chase started when officers saw a white 1999 Ford explorer near -- 1-40 and South Grand.

Officers immediately recognized the car driven by a 32 year old white man. They had been looking for him the past few days, but they couldn't find the driver because he has no permanent address.

So when police spotted him, and he didn't stop, they followed.

The suspect finally came to a halt at this alley way near 14th street, at the Carter/Dunaway Alley, after spike strips hit both the car's left tires.

The driver had 2 passengers, one 22-year-old with a burglary warrant out of Potter county and one 17-year-old female.

More charges may follow.  "As is common with all purists, all the information that's provided, by the in car camera an the GPS and all the equipment, all that information will be reviewed by a supervisor and checked into," said Sgt. Brent Barbee, from the Amarillo Crime Prevention Unit.

Officers found property in the vehicle, including identification belonging to other people, and are investigating the source of that property.

Both men are in custody and will be booked into the Potter County Detention Center. The girl was interviewed and will be released.

The driver of the car was wanted for criminal non-support warrant in a Deaf Smith county, a felony theft in a Gray County warrant, and for a contempt of court charge on a warrant issued from a court in New Mexico.

We were told previously from the Amarillo Police Department that the driver had four felony warrants. However, in a subsequent press release, there is only a mention of three.
