Guyon Saunders Resource Center awarded grant

AMARILLO,TEXAS -- The Guyon Saunders Resource Center will be awarded a façade grant by Center City.

The Design Review Committee of Center City will present a check Thursday for $10,000 to United Way of Amarillo.

A volunteer committee,led by Marjorie Hagan-Ellis awarded the grant.

The façade grant program is available for business owners who apply. A committee of Center City volunteers considers the applications and recommends approval to the Center City Board of Directors. The façade grants are matching grants, which match the owner's investment up to a maximum of $10,000.

The city of Amarillo gives $60,000 each year to Center City for the program.

The boundaries to qualify for the façade grants are: North - the railroad tracks; South - Interstate 40; East - the railroad tracks; and West - Washington/Adams Street.
