National Police Week-Wreath Laying Ceremony

AMARILLO,TEXAS -- This week is National Police Week.
In observance of the week, the public and anyone connected with law enforcement is invited to attend a wreath-laying ceremony.
The event will be held at the Llano East Field of Honor, on Wednesday, May 12 at 2:00 p.m.
Honor guards from the Amarillo Police Department,Potter County Sheriff's Office,the Randall County Sheriff's Office, along with the Texas Department of Public Safety will all take part in the presentation of colors and the placing of a wreath to honor area law enforcement officers that have lost their lives in the line of duty.
Panhandle area law enforcement agencies are asked to take part by attendance to represent their agency at the event.
The event will include a trumpet rendition of The Star Spangled Banner, an offering of prayer for those that have given their lives, and a fly-over by the Texas Dept. of Public Safety's helicopter.
Sgt. Randy Rolley of the Evansville, Indiana, Police Dept. will arrive in Amarillo that day and will attend to represent the Relay Route 66 For a Cause. This Route 66 Relay is to raise awareness for the National Law Enforcement Officer's Memorial Fund.
