AMARILLO,TEXAS -- An Amarillo man pleaded guilty Monday morning to one count of bank robbery.

Joshua Steven Urban, 24, admitted to committing the March, armed robbery of FirstBank Southwest on SW 34th.

He faces a maximum statutory sentence of 25 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. He is scheduled to be sentenced by U.S. District Judge Mary Lou Robinson on July 19.

On March 2, Urban entered the FirstBank Southwest, wearing a black ski mask with eye holes. He pointed a gun at the teller, demanded cash, and handed the teller a bag.  After filling the bag with cash Urban left the bank.

A customer in the bank at the time of the robbery, got in his own vehicle and followed Urban. Based on the description provided by the customer police were able to locate Urban and arrest him later that same day.
