Police arrest two after high speed chase

AMARILLO,TEXAS -- On Tuesday, Amarillo Police were sent on a high speed chase through the city limits before coming to an end in Oldham County. Around 3:20 officers were conducting an investigation in the 2100 block of South Coulter. During the investigation, a white male and woman were observed getting into a black 1990 Oldsmobile 88 car.

The officers tried to stop the car and identify the occupants when the driver sped away. Law enforcement pursued the vehicle west on I-40 past the city limits and into Oldham County.

DPS Troopers took over the pursuit near Wildorado and were able to use spikes on the suspect's tires. The car came to a stop and troopers along with Oldham County deputies arrested the two people inside.

The driver of the vehicle, 32-year-old Bruce Lee Clark of Amarillo was arrested and booked into the Potter County Jail on a charge of Evading Arrest with a Motor Vehicle which is a state jail felony.

The passenger, 29-year-old Breeana Sue Penny also of Amarillo was booked into the city jail on a charge of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

During the chase officers observed items being thrown from the car. Those items, a plastic baggie and drug paraphernalia were later recovered and are being processed at this time.

As a result of the original investigation, 22-year-old Logan Bailey Lawrence was arrested at the La Quinta Inn at 2108 S. Coulter. She had outstanding warrants for Theft over $1500 under $20,000 a state jail felony, and a bond surrender warrant with an original charge of possession of a control substance both out of Potter County. She also had outstanding warrants out of Randall County for probation violation on an original charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance within a drug free zone. Another 4 local municipal warrants were also out for her arrest.
