HOUSTON (AP) - Seven educators at a Houston-area elementary school have been suspended amid allegations that answers were changed on high-stakes standardized tests.

Galena Park school district Superintendent Mark Henry says the principal, assistant principal and five teachers at Normandy Crossing Elementary School are suspended with pay while the district investigates.

The Houston Chronicle reported Friday that the district's probe found evidence of answers being changed for some fifth-graders on the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills exam. The investigation also found that teachers had access to answer sheets and possibly exam questions the day before the test.

Normandy Crossing received the highest rating - "exemplary" - last school year. Schools that consistently earn low marks face sanctions.

Galena Park officials say the investigation began when an employee reported concerns about suspiciously high scores from students with learning disabilities.
