Free cell service to those eligible

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- More than 1-million Texans are without a job, and having a contact number for prospective employers is a must. So, Assurance Wireless is offering cell phones and service to low income families and those who use several federal assistance programs.
The company gives users a way to keep in touch with employers and stay connected to family in case of emergencies. The program provides a free wireless phone and 200 free minutes of national, local, and long-distance monthly service to eligible customers.
Customers eligible for Assurance Wireless include those who participate in Medicaid, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, Supplemental Security Income, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, Federal Public Housing Assistance (FPHA or Section 8), Low Income Home Energy Assistance, or the National School Lunch Program's Free Lunch Program. Customers may also qualify based on low household income.
