The Department of Public Safety says a Perryton man died in a 2-vehicle collision Thursday morning in Hemphill County about 5 miles south of Canadian.

The victim was 52-year-old Francisco Tarango.

Troopers say, for some reason as Tarango was driving behind a Mack truck on US 60, and his car ran into the back of the trailer. The car then burst into flames, and Tarango was unable to get out. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
