PALO DURO CANYON, TEXAS -- The road that takes travelers from the top of Palo Duro Canyon down to the canyon floor is scheduled to undergo some work this winter. The work will begin Monday, November 29, construction crews will keep one lane open during the project. However both lanes may be closed briefly while equipment is being moved or the road bed is shaped. 

Construction is expected to take up to five months. The work will stabilize the asphalt and improve drainage.

The project will have no impact on the park's entry area, rim-side cabins and Visitors Center/Gift Shop and adjacent scenic overlook. The park is open seven days a week. For more information about Palo Duro Canyon State Park, call (806) 488-2227.
