CLOVIS, N.M. (AP) - A Clovis company has won a $6.1 million construction contract for improvements at Cannon Air Force Base in eastern New Mexico.
The funds will be used to build a 242,000-square-foot area that will make it easier to load and unload AC-130 aircraft.
The project will include a concrete pad, tie downs, grounding, drainage, taxiway access, shoulders, pavement markings and lights.
Democratic U.S. Sen. Jeff Bingaman announced last week that the contract was going to Nick Griego and Sons Construction Inc.
