CANADIAN, TEXAS -- Canadian residents have passed the fourth school bond to be proposed in the last eight years. Voters in the Panhandle town kept with tradition this year as they passed the $9 million school bond with 627 votes in favor, and 214 voting against it.

The bond will pay for capital improvements and will reduce the amount of money sent to the state under the "Robin Hood" plan.

Voters in Canadian have a strong tradition of supporting school bonds, as they have passed multimillion dollar bonds in 2002, 2004, and 2009.
